Art and its tendency towards creativity, love, intelligence & storytelling delivered us through the last ice age; art is magic incarnate.

Life-changing, epistemologically challenging objects that one can hold in their hand and wonder how this came to be, how it can look so impossibly old and yet be made from contemporary objects. Did this object perhaps find its way back in time from our future ancestors who found it, knowing we (their past ancestors) had superpowers? Sub-genre: Science Possible Post-Apocalyptic Folk Art. Mysterious objects from an imaginary shipwreck & civilizational cautionary tales.
Where do you find inspiration? The mysteries and abilities of our spiritual and material universe will forever put wind in my creative sails: the potential colors of glass and oxidizing metals with their marine-like patinas. Fearless experimentation and gentle empiricism, where change is a constant excitement, even a danger, and scale is a variable, small is possible. Sacred objects from the future. Our future ancestors will find mystery in what we leave behind. We found Stardust on the wreckage. PEACE!
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to expand a public-facing forest art colony and secure a permanent installation space for The Nature of Reaction Future Anthropology Museum in a park, airport, or other visible venue. I’d create one-of-a-kind, hand-built works that invite wonder, cheer, and curiosity while keeping my studio practice independent and rooted in the wilderness near Chattanooga. Science is a tool, not a destination. PEACE!
