I love to create art with a surreal sensibility thats both informative and uplifting. It enlightens and confirms the viewer’s feelings about inclusion. My theme, Mending America is engaging, encouraging and all encompassing. It goes without saying, a desire to embrace our shared values. It’s informative, at first glance the viewer identifies with it. And inherently it makes the audience feel good about themselves feeling they’re a part of it.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the people I see every day. I see people looking for something to feel hopeful about. Looking to feel good about themselves and I would like bring pride to their lives by helping not only themselves but others. I want to see everyone pay it forward in simple ways, such as learning how to become successful in sustainability.
What would you do with $25,000?I’ll use the money for my “Mending America” series designed to transcend traditional artistic boundaries. It is more than a visual experience; it is an educational tool and a social movement that challenges the narrative of division by highlighting the strength found in our differences. The project is built on the belief that art has the unique power to relay positive energy and foster enlightenment by working with nonprofits and their communities to create wearable art that inspires others.
