My favorite art to create is textured wall sculptures. I shape curving styrofoam into flowing forms, inspired by movement and nature. I then layer acrylic mixed with sand over the surface, building rich texture and depth. This process lets me combine structure and organic elements, transforming simple materials into pieces that feel alive, tactile, and deeply connected to the natural world.
Where do you find inspiration?Living in California, I find endless inspiration in nature. The ocean especially shapes my work- its movement, texture, and rhythm. I use sand in my wall sculptures, grounding each piece in a real place. The flowing curves in my art echo the waves, capturing their energy and calm. My work is a reflection of the coast- organic, ever-changing, and deeply connected to the natural world.
What would you do with $25,000?If I win $25,000, I’ll invest it directly into my growth as an artist. I plan to return to art school and complete my college education, strengthening both my technical skills and creative voice. This opportunity would also help me begin building a path toward opening my own gallery, one that supports not only my work, but other emerging artists. More than anything, this would be a step toward turning passion into purpose.
