I try to make my art beautiful, functional and hopefully have meaning. The stillness of painting has a unique power to tell stories.

Art that moves people. Art that encourages contemplation and conversation. Painting is my language, the one that I can express the pain and joy I feel looking at the world.
Where do you find inspiration? All around me. Primarily in people and their actions, good and bad. In history and its current manifestations, especially religious iconography. In nature and the objects that are presented by her that are in a state of decay and change, yet still have beauty and current meaning.
What would you do with $25,000?The first thing I would do is pay off my credit card! Then I would give Doctors Without Borders and world central kitchens a donation. (I mean it) It would also allow me to get back in the studio full time, as I’m having to supplement my income by working a construction job. I’m 65 and my back doesn’t appreciate mixing concrete. I could stop stressing about money and stock my studio with a shit load of oil paint and canvas. My ongoing projects could come to fruition.
