My art combines photography, poetry, and science. It reaches across disciplines and seeks to save species.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Since I am an interdisciplinary artist, I combine photography, poetry, and science to create beautiful books.
Where do you find inspiration? The natural world. Through exploration of wild places like Brazil, Chile, Mongolia. Through using Scanning Electron Microscopes. Through up close encounters with jaguars, pumas, and pythons. Through exploring the cultures of different people from all over the world. Through learning the language of those places by studying linguistics. Through deciphering the science of those locations.
What would you do with $25,000?I want to finish this interdisciplinary book project I am working on, Lost and Invaded: International Environmental Issues. It chronicles the loss of polar bears, prairie chickens, and stag beetles. It shows the release of methane gas and the destructive force of invasive species like the Burmese Python in the Everglades, The book combines beautiful photographs with poetry and nonfiction to take us through these issues from many sides!
