It's in my blood. There are always ideas floating in my mind. To take them to a finished state is the best feeling.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I tend to include a stylized photo realism in most art. What really gets me is when I juxtapose the realism with something abstract. I used to paint in strictly black and white but have gone color in the past few years.
Where do you find inspiration?I usually get inspired from environments around me. It could be the silhouette of a tree branch against a blue sky - not that that will be the painted subject, but will trigger a concept for reasons unknown. It could be a line from a movie that trips me up and will need to unravel.
What would you do with $25,000?I'd bank some of it for sure. Treat my daughter to something special. I've also been known to give money away - to people I know that work hard but have a hard time getting by. It's a gift not to be returned (call me crazy) but I need to move life forward.
