Paula Mcfann

I love art because it connects you to beauty, to emotion, and to other people. It also becomes a place of calming and energizing.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love painting with watercolor. The way the paper and the paint play together is very meditative to me. It is relaxing and at the same time exciting. From the first brush of watercolor onto the paper until the last is a journey of discovery which includes patience, meditation and unpredictability.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find my inspiration through the beauty of the people and nature around me. The innocent features of a child, the joy in the faces of people I love. I see so much beauty in the amazing colors of nature; flowers and animals. I'm inspired by the way the sun plays with colors on a simple leaf or petal, and brings out certain emotions for me.

What would you do with $25,000?

I teach 2 of my friends watercolor, so I would set them up with the materials they need. I would pay off debt and visit my daughter and her family in Arkansas.
