I enjoy the challenge of painting water in motion, communicating the way light moves through it and the textures on the surface. I find the challenge of using new and different mediums and mixing con entional ones most interesting.
Where do you find inspiration?There is so much all around us, I try to see every sunset, examine flowers blooming...birds in flight....baby lizards in the garden. I camp, fish and travel always finding beauty in the natural world with a deep appreciation for preserving it.
What would you do with $25,000?The prize money isn't my motivation, I am a retired stone mason and for 43 years I created with glass mosaic tiles, marble, limestone, ceramic and more. I transitioned to painting after injuring my back . I have no formal art training but am strongly guided by a natural sense of color and intuitive skill and believe I am capable of evolving into any medium I desire. The prize money would go to the purchase of a camper van that would serve as a mobile studio.
