I create art as a way to get away from problems and truly be in the moment. In a fast moving world it’s nice to spend quality time creating.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I enjoy creating both pottery and paintings because they let me express myself in different ways. Pottery feels hands-on and grounding, allowing me to slow down and focus on shaping something physical. Painting, on the other hand, gives me more freedom to explore color, emotion, and ideas in a more fluid and creative way.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my past experiences and by looking at old photos that bring back strong emotions and memories. These moments help me reflect on how I felt and allow me to turn those emotions into art. By revisiting these memories, I am able to create work that feels more personal, meaningful, and connected to my life.
What would you do with $25,000?If I had $25,000, I would pay off my student loan debt. I currently go to the University of Minnesota. I am in the Bachelor’s of Fine Arts program, and am graduating next year. I would love to ease my mind and get a chunk of debt paid off. This would help me focus more on my practice and refine my art skills.
