Receive Text UpdatesMy favorite type of art to create is authentic Mi’kmaw art. It is deeply rooted in my culture, traditions, and identity. Through my work, I express meaningful stories, values, and connections to my people and the Creator. Each piece reflects who I am and where I come from, while honoring the gift I’ve been given from creator.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in my Mi’kmaw background, culture, and traditions. My work is guided by the teachings of my people and a deep connection to who I am. I believe the Creator has given me a gift, and I use my art to share that gift with others. Each piece is inspired by purpose, meaning, and the responsibility to create something that represents my identity and inspires those around me.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would reinvest in my art and community. I would restock my art supplies and upgrade my garage studio with proper insulation and heating so I can create year-round. I would also give back by sponsoring local kids’ sports teams or helping a child who cannot afford to play. This support would strengthen my work and make a positive impact in my community.
