I can't go a day without painting. Portraits are tied to my soul, bringing me joy, peace and a sense of purpose.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create portraits because I am drawn to the quiet complexity of human expression. Through subtle shifts of light, color and gesture. I explore identity, emotion and presence. Each face becomes a story; an attempt to capture not just how someone looks, but who they are.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the subtle expressions and stories carried in people's faces; fleeting glances, quiet emotions and lived experiences. Everyday encounters, memories and light falling across a face all spark ideas. Portraiture lets me explore identity and connection, turning observation. into something intimate and lasting.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would finally invest in my growth as a portrait painter; securing mentorship to refine my craft and gain guidance I've been lacking. I would purchase quality materials without hesitation and attend art conferences to connect, learn and be seen. This support would transform both my practice and my confidence as an artist.
