I make art in order to cope and survive within this world. When life gets tough I reach into my tactile truths to gain clarity and wisdom.

I long to create worlds unseen by the average observer. My motto is “What if?” By bringing thought forms through parallel portals, I can awaken the sleep of everyday life. I often think, can they see this? Can they remember that? Will this change their minds? The use of color is the most efficient tool in my box and I only wish I can master this area within my tactile works. I use color to coalesce that balance between drawing, painting and sculpture.
Where do you find inspiration?l mostly rely on key points between here and there. That delicate state between the gross and the unevolved. A touch from the divine and the heavens within the astral planes is key. I try to first listen to the ancestral whispers, then sit with it a while and try to make sense of it. The challenge is not to overthink it. By trusting the source I proceed with good intentions. Because If the idea does not translate well (and sometimes it hasn't), I won’t feel the need to stress about it.
What would you do with $25,000?If blessed with this prize, my work would jumpstart exponentially. By securing structural scans and necessary molds on my sculptures to start. I could then proceed with new works in a well equipped studio space. With the ability to obtain art supplies, the main goal would be to create my 2nd solo exhibition within a reasonable time frame. A show that would present drawings, sculpture and prints. This funding would also leave me the ability to create a self published children's book.
