In addition to being a visual artist, I am also an actor, writer, and musician. Simply put, I create art because art is all I am.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
That's a tough question. Not because it's difficult to find something I enjoy, but instead because I can't seem to pick a medium. Growing up, I found myself involved in a whole mess of practices. What I found, is that they all have their strengths based on what you're trying to convey, art is art. It doesn't matter what tool you use to create it. That being said, I seem to find myself gravitating towards art that tells a story. We all have something to learn, and stories are powerful lessons.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is a funny thing. It tends to catch you, even when you aren't looking for it. Even the smallest details in the world around us can lead a person to their next masterpiece. From Van Gogh replicating shades of blue found in fields of flowers, to Mike Shinoda sampling a James Bond movie in "Faint", it continues to surprise me every day. When I presented my senior thesis, titled "What is art?" My entire idea came from a monobloc chair that had become covered in paint over the years.
What would you do with $25,000?I would either use it to pay for a studio space, or to pay to continue my education. As of now, I have certifications in music technology & repair, Mixology, animation, VFX, and I have a BFA in Music, Theatre & Dance, Creative Writing, and Art. In addition, I am currently pursuing education in Makeup/SFX, I plan to get an MFA in Themed Experiences, and a possible Ph.D, likely in music education. No, I do not plan to slow down. Yes, people think I'm insane. We're artists--Aren't we all?
