As a created being, I am compelled to create beautiful things. Crafting beauty is in direct opposition to the chaos naturally around us.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is contemporary landscape. When I look at a work of art, I like to be reminded of the artists’ presence through slight abstractions; their stylistic thumbprint. I use heavy impasto with acrylic, clay, and other media to create a warm and inspiring scene that makes you want to linger in the space it’s in.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the places that my wife and I have lived and traveled. In my most recent works, I’ve enjoyed creating works inspired by the Scottish Highlands, the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, and the American Marshlands.
What would you do with $25,000?I just started my art business. This funding would allow me to launch both my own work, but more importantly champion the work of fellow artists who are my contemporaries. I have started a monthly artist spotlight that I’d love to make more collaborative- and even make into a podcast where I explore artistic movements throughout the ages and into our modern content and visual appetites. Honestly, how couldn’t I use $25,000!
