I create so I can be in community and feel a sense of belonging. Art is a door way into artists world and a practice in empathy

Music and Photography are by far my favorite forms of expression. They both require you to leave a part of your ego behind and tune into your surroundings. With photography you are searching for a moment to capture that tells story. With music I search for an emotion and stay in that moment mixing tension and intention. The collaborative nature of these two mediums bring me joy that is why they’re my favorite types of art to create.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration stems from the collaborative nature, of art. With photography, you have a subject in order to bring an image to life you need a connection. Whether it’s nature, a concert, a sporting event, or waiting for a train that connection makes the art powerful. Similarly music I find that I’m most at home having an unspoken understanding with the musicians and producers I’m working with. I’m forever chasing these moments of community. They are why I do what I do.
What would you do with $25,000?One thing $25k would allow me to do is create with a purpose and without fear. I have always dreamed big and had to scale down because of finances. I’ll buy $500 10 segment train tickets for me and 3 artists. We would travel the country playing music, and documenting artist’s communities. I’d be I’d be able to secure rent for an arts studio in Boston for a year and fund my debuté EP. The most important thing thing I’d be able to do is pay other artists a competitive rate to collaborate.
