Emotions are easier to share through painting, - via line, shape, form, texture, tone and color- than with words. For me, that is : )
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm currently working on a series called "Breaking Free"/"Overcoming." While the subject matter is horses competing in grand prix jumping w their riders, the paintings are a series of inspirations for overcoming obstacles in general. They are bold and energetic and have a lot of abstraction to show movement. If you want to "Move Forward" (polo series), you must take action. Art imitates life!
Where do you find inspiration? In so many places. Watching show jumping, my cat, the lobelia in a brick wall in my garden..the bees, the plants, my cat, the fold of an arm, architecture, people, windows.
What would you do with $25,000?I add a portion to my emergency fund. Then I'd look at the "orders of go' for Paris and Cannes, and choose one of them to attend for the purpose of making reference photographs for new paintings in this series. (Cannes, FRA: June 4–6Paris, FRA: June 19–21) Or possibly both depending upon costs. Why France? I am inspired by everything French! I feel at home there. The top international riders will be there. Assuming frugality, I would also attend the championships in Czechoslovakia in December.
