I mostly love creating realistic drawings using graphite and colored pencil. I’m really drawn to capturing detail, texture, and strong contrast, especially in subjects that are visually interesting up close. A lot of my work focuses on everyday objects or natural forms, like plants, where I can play with light, shadow, and fine details. I also enjoy working with color when I can, especially bright or rich tones that make the piece feel more alive.
Where do you find inspiration?I find a lot of my inspiration in nature, especially plant life. I’ve always been drawn to the textures, patterns, and details you don’t always notice right away. I also get inspired by everyday objects, especially when I can look at them up close or in a more macro way. Focusing in like that helps me see things differently and capture details that make something simple feel more interesting.
What would you do with $25,000?If I won, it would help me finish my degree in art education so I can keep doing what I love and share that passion with young students. As a mom of four, it would also take a huge financial weight off my family. It would help me and my husband provide more stability for our kids and make a big difference in our everyday lives.
