I create to make sense of the noise in my head and turn it into something that brings joy to me and anyone who views my work.

The kind of art I love creating often reflects where I am emotionally. When I’m feeling overwhelmed or creatively blocked, I naturally gravitate toward abstract and textured pieces, especially hearts. There’s something freeing about working with texture and emotion in a less structured way. I also really enjoy creating highly detailed, realistic paintings, which allow me to slow down, focus, and bring precision and depth to my work.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw a lot of inspiration from music and my own life experiences. There’s something about the emotion, storytelling, and nostalgia of ‘90s R&B that really resonates with me and often influences the mood and energy behind my work.
What would you do with $25,000?As an art teacher, I see firsthand how arts programs are disappearing from public schools. With $25,000, I would host art shows, workshops, and creative events where kids can showcase and sell their work. Many students lack opportunities to share their creativity or learn that their artistic talents can generate income. My goal is to inspire young artists to keep creating while showing them their gifts have real value and can lead to future opportunities.
