Receive Text UpdatesI love creating in so many ways but painting will always be my first love. The flow state, when my mind quiets and every brush stroke makes sense. When you just see color and shape before the whole picture. I love to bring things to life in new and unexpected ways and to always be playful in my practice.
Where do you find inspiration? So much of my inspiration these days is rooted in food and drink culture. I've been working in restaurants for 10 years and have always loved the camaraderie that comes with sharing a good meal and the challenge of painting a clear martini glass. I also love incorporating nature and animals in my pieces which is deeply rooted from my love for the outdoors, my need to always run away to the woods and a passion for all things living.
What would you do with $25,000?I could heavily invest in my art practice. I could finally work less days serving and bartending and put more of my energy into building out my dream. Right now I'm putting full time energy into both and while some days it feels really fulfilling it doesn't leave room for anything else. I want to be able to have some space to breathe. To allow those juices to flow into creative projects throughout the day without having to switch gears and head to my second job at 4pm.
