My love for art matches my love for nature, a safe space where expression flows like water. For me, to see and make art is healing.

I started off as an ink and watercolor artist, later introducing acrylic into my work. I love painting women as different parts of nature, capturing the true experiences, struggles and transformations of womanhood. I paint with vibrant colors, mixing and layering the paint to see what happens. Just like nature, this practice can be unpredictable but organic. It's beautiful to release control and let the water and color play with each other.
Where do you find inspiration? As a young girl, I was always drawing women as superheroes. It felt empowering and it made me feel seen. Growing up seeing the women in my life struggling and not being honored, really stuck with me. I saw my art transform throughout my life, but the theme always stayed the same, women and nature. It felt like I was honoring the women in my life while also honoring myself. I have met so many incredible women. Their stories inspire me everyday and remind me that my art makes a difference.
What would you do with $25,000?Receiving $25,000 would truly allow me to grow and help me share my work with women all over the world. I spent 6 years painting and writing three different books about women and their connection to nature. I raised the money, found local printers and successfully got them self-published. As an independent artist doing everything by myself, it is difficult to get my books back in stock. The first thing I would do is order books and then invest in a functional studio space.
