I create art to give people a mental boner, in hopes they’ll stop screwing over each other. So far, it doesn’t seem to be working.

Painting abstract/realism. It’s tai chi for my body, my brain, and my overall spirit. The high, sense of accomplishment I get from painting is only measurable to the self-loathing that occurs when I ruin a painting. It’s like a snake choking on its own tail. I know exactly how it feels. “I’ve made it this far, I can stop now.”
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in giving up. Being held to a pointless standard. Truly understanding myself and my flaws. Being pushed through an obstacle course and rewarded with a toxic treat—only to wake up and do it all over again. No, I quit. It’s okay not to be in the front row or to post about how much I love this restaurant’s atmosphere. I realize I don’t need to be seen to feel inspired.
What would you do with $25,000?Finally, a fun question. I would remodel my studio, so elegant that even Johnny Depp could find sanctuary there.
