My favorite type of art to create tends to be something that I ruin over and over again in pursuit of creating beauty. I find that somewhere in the process I have a love/hate relationship with a painting which only solidifies my connection to each piece I produce. The works that I favor always start and end in two completely different places and there is something about the struggle that I'm fond of.
Where do you find inspiration?For me, inspiration comes from my day to day life. Things seem to be a bit out of sorts more often lately so if I find an opportunity to create something that is not only beautiful but deep and poetic I revel in the moment and leave it all on the canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would solve a lot of my problems but I would use the money to start a mural project to help bring awareness and resources to kids who have been through domestic abuse. I've had a dream to help communities that need some TLC by cleaning the neighborhood and painting murals with the help of mental health professionals, mentorship programs and any resources that can help domestic abuse survivors, come together to heal and create the beauty we all deserve.
