Art was my voice before I had one. I was too scared to speak my truth! Art has helped me find my truth, identity, purpose, & voice! It's me!

In the past, my favorite medium was graphite. However, I have found myself branching out into ink & paint, especially with ink fine liners lately. I have been doing a lot of ground work on my basics as I get back into creating again & Zentangle to help me ground & center myself. I love to create pieces as gifts, bring joy, evoke emotion, & evoke healing. I feel most free when I let my intuition guide me to create without restrictions or end goals. Just grab my stuff & create without direction!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration all around me honestly. Through fellow artists, nature, my family, friends, my life, mental health, & world events. There is no shortage of reasons for creating art for me. Once upon a time, I had stopped after my biggest cheerleader for my dream of being an artist passed away, my mom. After years of grief & ignoring art, I realized that it was part of me, part of my voice. How I spoke more fluently than I could verbally. After I realized what I'd lost, I started back up.
What would you do with $25,000?My husband & daughter are the reason I keep going & they're joy means everything to me. They encourage me to grow & heal daily. We live in a well lived in home with my husband's Mom. It's not a bad situation as we combine resources to get by. Space is limited & much of our things are still packed, including most of my art stuff. I would use it as a deposit on a small home for us so we could all have space of our own again. So this would be my gift to them for all they've done & been to me.
