Creating art lets me share a piece of my soul through color, imagination, and images that bring happiness to others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite kind of art to create is simple, raw, and emotionally expressive. I love using bright colors and bold contrasts to create images that spark feeling and imagination. I’m drawn to imperfect, human pieces that feel alive rather than overly polished. Most of my work is intuitive and emotion-driven, with the goal of creating something that makes people pause, smile, reflect, or feel connected in some way.
Where do you find inspiration? My art is inspired by memories, emotions, and the feelings I experience throughout the day or in a single moment from the coziness of my water bed. I like taking one simple idea, image, or feeling and expressing it as one unique statement rather than overcomplicating it. Creating has become a daily necessity — my way to process emotion, connect with myself, and turn ordinary moments into something meaningful.
What would you do with $25,000?After 35 years of teaching, my husband and I retired to his family home, filled with memories since the early 1900s. The house now needs care and repair, and we hope to restore it into a safe, peaceful space for our family. We want to provide stability for my family, support my husband’s gardening and hunting for food, and give me a quiet, comfortable space to continue creating art and listening to my soul’s calling in this next chapter of life.
