Transatlantic is a collage series across continents & timelines. Like traveling, art transcends borders. I create to explore similar ideals.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!

Receive Text UpdatesCollage serves as the foundation behind all art I make: analog, digital, and spatially collaged animations. Each piece is collaged from my original photos. Timelines between shooting locations span years, communicating how traveling not only transcends physical boundaries, but also the boundary of time. A collaged "Flight" is created when a relationship between two photos emerge -be it visual patterns or deeper contextual narratives- and can take years for one photo to find its fitting pair.
Where do you find inspiration? With my feet on unfamiliar soil, a camera in my hand, and my eyes staring at stories hidden in stone. Architecture, statues, and sometimes cemeteries, each place has a past which I reimagine. My Transatlantic series crosses multiple continents and timelines as an exploration of the boundless ideas beyond our boundaries. Each b&w collage is made from photos I've taken exploring continents, countries, cities, and communities. An expression of combining similarities found within our differences.
What would you do with $25,000?I'll fund printing the full collection of 51 Transatlantic flights on Hahnemuhle paper, plus framing costs for the Art of Elysium exhibition. Extra funding will help publish a Transatlantic hardbound book containing all 51 collages and the stories behind them. Secondly, I'll host a collage workshop for the public at Art of Elysium the opening weekend of my exhibition. Thirdly, the prize will further my art practice, allowing travel to the farthest reaches of earth I've yet to explore.
