Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I create bold, vibrant works that immortalize legends and refusing to let them fade. My pop-infused portraits are acts of remembrance. I paint astronauts as extensions of my own longing for space, turning canvas into a vessel for exploration. Recently, I’ve embraced Picasso and Miró-inspired women with books, symbols of curiosity and portals of worlds. Working in mixed media, acrylic, and oil, I transform everyday materials into pieces that feel alive, urgent, and timeless.

Where do you find inspiration?

I’m drawn to what others overlook, like wine corks, torn magazine pages, deflated balloons, objects calling to be reborn. Color lives everywhere: in quiet neighborhoods, in flowers, in unnoticeable textures. I study artists who came before me, and it feels like a dialogue with them. I believe walls shouldn’t just confine us but they should awaken us. My work is driven by the need to turn ordinary spaces into something memorable.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would fuel my practice with the materials it deserves like paint, canvas, wood, resin and rebuild my studio that matches my vision. I’d invest in press and marketing to break past barriers and claim space in the art world. I would also uplift my community through Arte Youth Program, expanding access to art and STEAM to children. Finally, I’d produce a fully realized exhibition, make it immersive, unforgettable and most of all celebrate with a nice steak dinner with my family.
