I'm a small town mixed media artist. My work speaks emotion, concept & nature via charcoal, pastels, ink, paint, etc, as my emotional voice.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Art is my emotional translator, it speaks for me where words cannot. It speaks pain into passion, my passions into dreams, and those passions and dreams morph into contrast and color into a physical image onto paper. I pour my soul and spirit out through my hands and create visual at that makes people feel compassion, nature's beauty, and imaginative awe.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration is a bridge between the world I see and the one I feel. I find it in the quiet strength of nature, like the watchful spirit of an owl, the power words hold and the emotions behind them, the imaginative reaches of color and the friction of modern life; the pain of people's loss of personal values and interaction while lost in a digital device. My inspiration is my love of nature, color, contrast, empathy, and expressing a mixture on page. Sometimes raw and sometimes beautiful.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, I’m not in this to win. I just want to show my work, so others know they aren’t alone. My pieces all come from emotions. If I won, I’d finally be able to breathe; despite working constantly to survive, I have no retirement. I'd be able to pursue my passion more. Unlike many, my school fortunately provided arts. My dream was to donate work to art organizations in support of low income children who can't afford arts in school.
