I'm a multimedia artist. I create art from a place of curiosity and the challenge of creating something new from salvaged material. #passion
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm passionate about creating in so many disciplines, but the art that calls me over and over, and is often incorporated into my other media, is paper sculpture. Commonly known as paper mache, frequently employed throughout the ages all over the world, I've sought to elevate it as a modern, sustainable form of creative expression.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration can be found everywhere, every day, from the moment I open my eyes in the morning. Sometimes I carry it into the waking world from my dreams. Sometimes it pops up in mundane, but meditative tasks, sometimes in exciting, exceptional events. Because I'm a multimedia artist, creativity flows through all my days, from the food I create to the clothes I wear, even the things I grow in my garden. I consume colors, textures, and more in the world around me and use them to create anew.
What would you do with $25,000?Share the love! A big pain point for artists is supplies to create the art. So a percentage of those funds would go to providing supplies for other artists through my social platforms, small grants, and local community outlets. I would find suppliers to partner with me for a "give creativity" initiative. I would also want to create an initiative with my local library branches, because libraries encourage curiosity and creativity. Lastly, supplies and tools to make my own studio more efficient!
