I am an art soldier. Art is the only thing that can change the world. Artists, writers, dancers, poets, thespians filmmakers inspire me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I prefer digital art because you get do overs and can try different approaches. I began with a pencil then pens & watercolour. Then I got an iPad. Warhol would love the iPad. No mess, no costly materials and you're always discovering something new,
Where do you find inspiration?I don't have to look for it. Some face on the street, a story or film, something I hear. I don't go for likeness or even proper proportion I pull most of it from my psyche or wherever nightmares and dreams are, Goya had the right idea about art. Mock the rich, make them pay for it. You make art from what you truly see, which he did even when he painted aristocrats who were never very appealing. He found beauty in peasants and the horrors of war, much like the poet Beaudelaire
What would you do with $25,000?I'd buy a good printer, ink, paper to print my work. I'd fix my car so I show my work in SF, Portland , LA and any place that would have me. I'd also enter writing contests which charge a reading fee, I illustrate my poems and prose because I think pictures add to that experience. They go together for me always.
