I create art in order to remember who I am, where I come from, and where I am going.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Depends on the time of day and the season we be traveling through. Clay being a year-round venture, but the colder months are definitely Raku season and my favorite. Noxious gases, pyromania with purpose, and glazes worth all the thermal shock in the world.
Where do you find inspiration? In the challenge of someone saying, 'you can't do that'. The raku process fascinates me, but I wanted to create something other than a pot. When people view the Night Dancer series of work and see that I use more than two glazes, multiple at times (raku serendipity is a plus), I am pleased.
What would you do with $25,000?Expanding creative capability would be a goal. Larger raku figures than what is now possible with the equipment I currently have.
