I think of my art as a place where attention and thought linger, where the unexpected is welcomed and meaning is allowed to surface unnamed.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Impactful. My best work draws a visiter in for a closer look. It holds their attention and slows them down long enough to contemplate its meaning. I can see it in their eyes. They formulate their own interpretation and turn a still painting into an experience close to their soul.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere really. In life- walking down city blocks or on the rural trail when the morning sun turns grey to color and the defused into form. On-line- seeing new visuals and experimentations from across the world. In my studio- where my thoughts become daydreams, my silence becomes noise that create rhythm then pattern. I get lost in my studio. Hours feel like minutes.
What would you do with $25,000?I would try to use it wisely. My goal would be to find what supports the emergence of my work not only to the art world at large but to the individuals who find it relatable and, through interpretation, their own.
