What is your favorite type of art to create?

Assemblage sculpture, intermedia works, and installations

Where do you find inspiration?

There was a show at the new museum in the 90s titled unmonumental. This was shown to me by my grad mentor and it changed my work forever. Conceptually, my work is created from a place of nostalgia and time travel(memory), along with a conversation that surrounds objects, their inherent associations, and personal meanings.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would start up a non profit art gallery in my home area(quad cities il/ia) in order to facilitate a space for art students to display work. Im a professor and our schools gallery is underwhelming and I think the young artists need a space to learn about the gallery setting as well as to get more exposure. I would travel abroad for my first time and participate in an artist residency or two. I would also pay down my student debt so I don't have to live pay check to pay check.
