Rida Salie

I love to create art because it is relaxing, and it is also fun to watch come alive. I make art that is funny and reminds me of my family.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is funny art that reminds me of my family. For example, the chicken reminds me of my dad, and the beach in the background reminds me of my country, Sri Lanka. I also like to make things that are colorful, and unique.

Where do you find inspiration?

I get a lot of inspiration from the trips that my family and I have gone on. I also get a lot of inspiration from my dad because he loves art and he hangs most of our pieces on the wall. He also likes to take pictures of things and he often asks me to recreate them as a painting or a drawing.

What would you do with $25,000?

I think if I got $25,000 I might save it for collage, or use it to go on more trips, so that I can create more art. Also, if my dad and I got to meet Johnny Deep he would be so happy, he loves his style and he loves all his movies. I honestly think that he might be Johnny Depp’s biggest fan!
