What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love creating landscape paintings using acrylics and oils on canvas. Another subject I love creating is cityscapes. I prefer to be versatile and so, delve into all different subjects of painting, like portrait, figurative and contemporary. I prefer working with acrylics as they dry faster, but frankly enjoy the freedom one gets using oils as they merge better and look more professional. I do call myself a landscape artist, as that is my first love.

Where do you find inspiration?

I enjoy hiking the beautiful terrain of Tennessee, and love taking pictures that I convert into artwork. I also get inspection by places I have visited. Reference photograph also helps me create my own landscapes. It could also be just an imagination too. Even the mess on my artist's table gave me inspiration to paint it. My substrate could be absolutely anything, I have painted on pottery, earthenware, wooden benches, cloth, tree stumps and many other places.

What would you do with $25,000?

Winning $25,000 as an artist would provide a significant opportunity to transition from treating art as a hobby to a sustainable business, primarily by upgrading equipment, purchasing quality paints and investing in professional development. Since I am a totally self artist I would love to invest in a good online art course that could teach me the techniques of oil painting. Promoting my artwork through some good paid websites is something I would definitely want to think about.
