To create art is to be human. Like anyone else all I want Is to be heard and seen. Art is how I do that.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is that which recreates the mirage that is our existence. Fear, desire and projection is not just how we survive but how we subconsciously create recursive systems to tell our stories. In all art, there is a void. I aim to create art that reveals the eyes that stare back. The reflection in an invisible mirror projected onto shape. The meaning derived where none was ever intended.
Where do you find inspiration?I don’t. Inspiration is much like motivation. Short lived and impossible to maintain. I create purely from images that come to me whenever they appear. And the only means why which they manifest in my mind is through a simple question that can be asked in an infinite number of ways: Why?
What would you do with $25,000?I’d stop being homeless and do everything in my power to make the little boy I once was, proud.
