Work in all media, what I label as Folk Funk Fantesee and fusion. Am amalgamation of Culture, style, and vision. A style developed over 5O years to sometimes address current events ,and or just to inject humor and playfulness in each piece. Use of recycled, reclaimed and repurposed materials lay at its core. Using a product or manufactured item in a different and purposeful manner. A new and enlightened life. Love and wonder are the drive, alway open to new possibilities.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration in everyday life, a color, a shape , someone on the street that stands out as truly original. All of the natural surroundings in my area, and those I see thru media. Mostly inspiration comes from within, it it a driving force, continuously changing in my mind. Always visions of paintings drawings, Etc. Sometimes I almost believe I have already done them in another dimension. In my little urban hub, all I have to do is go from room to room, or walk out the door.
What would you do with $25,000?Rent studio space, list it to gentrification in 2013. Unable to get back there. Multiple issues have created a barrier. However without it I have continued on my journey of discovery each and everyday in my 2 bedroom flat. Planning a retrospective in the fall of this year , it would allow me to produce a theatrical event during this exhibition. Needless to say , the funds could allow serious art majic come to life…
