I create to share the things important to me, sources of love, anger, or fear. I take these ineffable ideas and attempt to eff them.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love working with sculptures, even in my painting I like to use thick layers and textures to bring in a sort of sculptural element to what would ordinarily be strictly 2-D.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in part through what I see in my daily life, taking the most aesthetic details and taking them to the next level! But I also like to connect those ordinary elements to stories from mythology. Combining the elements from the real world and the mythological one allows me to emphasize the fact that our lives are not ordinary and our decisions matter as much as those of any goddess or god.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the prize as seed money for a business that would give myself and more importantly others a chance to showcase their art, art of any genre, be it visual, musical, or performance based. There is incredible talent held in our communities, and I want to be a part of that being shared with the world!
