The motivations of human beings who don't create art are a mystery to me. Art is the only thing that makes sense in my brain.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I gravitate toward surreal illustration using acrylic paint, markers, spray paint, and digital. Absurd and bizarre imagery with a strange and imaginative underlying story seems to be my jam. I write a lot of music, and one of my favorite things to do is design album art for various groupings of songs that I record (most of which I never show anyone). Filmmaking is a passion of mine as well.
Where do you find inspiration?Growing up in the 90's, I was obsessed with film. I spent all of 4th grade dressed like Alan Grant from Jurassic Park... yeah. The 80's and 90's gave us such a rich collection of Science Fiction, Action and Horror imagery that really shaped the way my brain works. Much of my art depicts darkly humorous, and bizarre situations that you'd find watching movies like Total Recall, or The Thing, etc.
What would you do with $25,000?Finally pay off my Art School loans? Who am I kidding, I'd use it to continue making art and perhaps upgrade some of my filmmaking equipment. I'd also help my Mother with some long put-off home repairs, and THEN we'll see about those loans 😉.
