While graphite is still how I begin every piece, my artistic voice was truly forged through a period of homelessness, I didn’t have the luxury of choice; I created with whatever I could scavenge or find. This taught me to see the potential in every tool, and so that reflects in almost every piece I do.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere , whether it be online, other artists, a piece I see on the side of the road or a conversation with a stranger on a bus.
What would you do with $25,000?For a long time, my art was temporary. $25,000 would allow me to give my work permanence. This would buy the time and stability needed to transform my history of struggle into a body of work that speaks for the invisible and the unheard. I also would like to dedicate a portion of it to lost artists so that they have a way to put all of their journeys into works of art.
