I love creating digital paintings of light moving across water. Beaches, pools, and lakes have always felt like places where I can breathe a little easier. I paint with my finger, so every mark feels direct and instinctive. I also turn these pieces into looping motion works with sound, so they become something you can sit with and experience.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in quiet moments, especially around water. It might be the way light reflects across a surface or how a figure exists in that space. Those moments do not last long, but they stay with me. Creating is my way of holding onto that feeling and sharing it with others.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to create the time and space to take my work to the next level. I want to produce larger scale prints and more immersive motion pieces with sound, and reach a wider audience. It would allow me to focus more deeply on creating and build something that connects with people in a lasting way. Supporting other artists is important to me, and I would continue my yearly donation to the Art Students League of New York to help further arts education.
