“I most love creating paintings that feel sacred, emotional, and rooted in story. My work often explores Black womanhood, hidden histories, spiritual inheritance, and the beauty that can exist alongside grief, resilience, and becoming. I enjoy building pieces that feel both intimate and powerful.”
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by Black history, faith, hidden stories, feminine strength, and the resilience carried through generations. Much of my work comes from a desire to honor what has been overlooked, make the unseen visible, and create art that feels both powerful and deeply human.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would use it not only to expand my work as an artist, but to pour that growth back into the community. I would invest in creating a powerful new body of work with greater scale, excellence, and visibility, using materials, equipment, and professional support that would allow me to fully realize my vision. At the same time, I would create opportunities for the community to experience that work through exhibitions, prints, and creative spaces that honor humanity as a whole
