Ceramics is tansformation art. A collaboration between artist and fire to tell stories that last generations if cared for. I burn wood.

I work with clay. Transforming soft maliable clay into stone through the woodfire process. The potter's wheel is my favorite tool. I feel through the motion and consistency of a wheel I am able to tap into some ancestral flow state. Form and function go hand in hand in my work. Much of my work is meant to be utilized daily. I hope my work brings a level of beauty and uniqueness to seemingly mundane daily rituals such as drinking a cup of coffee or enjoying a meal.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from historical and contemporary pots alike.
What would you do with $25,000?I would purchase a small piece of land in Cochise county Arizona and build my first woodfired kiln. Fire brick and refractory shelving for the kilns we use are highly engineered and highly priced materials. Many kilns across the country require tens of thousands of dollars in shelving alone. This 25k would be a great starting point for me to get some land and build a medium sized woodfired kiln to benefit Cochise county and Arizona potters.
