Art is the physical manifestation of the personal experience. I create to connect, to share, and to learn.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love oil painting and working in an abundance of glazes that transform the piece with each new layer. Yet, I find the most joy in inserting the foundation of drawing; carving out worlds in the colors I throw on the canvas.
Where do you find inspiration?A majority of my works are entirely from imagination, beginning with depositing colors onto a canvas dependent on the mental space I am in, and then find the path through my emotional landscape— using each day and interaction with the work to reflect my own personal state of being.
What would you do with $25,000?That kind of money would mean a tremendous amount to a young artist like me, who is currently working part time while pursuing a graduate degree. I would love to channel that into my craft and pursue a full time position as an artist, funding rent, supplies, studio space, as well as joining and traveling to programs/events to teach as well as learn from other artists.
