I’m drawn to creating abstract, expressive work—painting that leans into emotion, movement, and intuition, where color and texture carry the story more than anything literal.
Where do you find inspiration?I get my inspiration from internal emotional states as much as the external world—moments of reflection, tension, and solitude that don’t always have words but can be translated through color, movement, and texture. I’m also drawn to the subtle visuals of everyday life—weathered surfaces, shifting light, and the quiet abstraction found in urban environments.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were honored to receive the Johnny Depp People Artist Award, I would use the $25,000 prize to meaningfully invest in the development of my studio practice and the long-term growth of my career as an artist. A significant portion would go directly toward sustaining and expanding my studio space, allowing me the time and stability needed to focus fully on creating new work.
