My favorite type of art to create is work that explores the emotional world of gay men—connection, tenderness, vulnerability, and the quiet power of being seen. I’m drawn to soft chalk because it lets me shape intimacy without harsh lines. The medium feels human: warm, smudged, breathing. Through gentle shading and subtle gestures, I try to capture moments that often go unspoken—comfort, trust, longing, and the beauty of simply existing together.
Where do you find inspiration?Art is where I let myself be fully seen, the way queer intimacy teaches you to open the locked rooms of your heart. When I create, I tap into that same electric honesty—the courage to show softness, the ache of wanting to be understood, the quiet power of being held in someone’s gaze without hiding. My work is shaped by the tenderness and tension of those moments, the way two people can recognize each other in a world that often refuses to. Creating lets me pour that truth onto the page:
What would you do with $25,000?If I won $25K as an artist, I wouldn’t play it safe. I’d use it to break rules people pretend are unbreakable. I’d fund the projects everyone told me were “too much,” “too bold,” or “too honest.” I’d invest in the tools and space that let me create without asking permission. I’d travel to places that shake my spirit awake and bring back ideas that don’t fit neatly into anyone’s expectations.
