My favorite type of art doesn’t come from a certain medium, but it’s the kind of art that really connects with people. The kind of art that tells an entire story with just a single image. I want to evoke an emotion when people see my art work. I don’t want people to just “look” at it, I want them to actually experience it by taking it all in. Every time I pick up a pencil I want to create something that people will remember, not just visually, but emotionally. That is the art I like to create.

Inspiration really can come from anywhere. It can come from something as simple as looking at a flower and seeing how the light reflects and interacts with each pedal. It can come from seeing a little small child laugh and being able experience their joy inside yourself and wanting to share that feeling with others. Other times it comes in the form of an original idea that stirs something inside yourself and you want nothing more than to be able to reveal it to the world.

I would use part of it to help with the fees of publishing my first children’s book as well as begin building my dream of having a small art studio and keep doing what I love for years to come. My other passion is working with my local dog rescue (I foster dogs until they’re adopted) as well as working with animal shelters throughout my community so I would definitely donate a portion to help save and find homes for dogs in need. The rest would go into my nephews and niece’s college fund.
