Without realizing, I have married my painting with my international travels (solo independent backpacking). Along this life-journey I teach.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite medium is Oil Painting. (Somewhat of a disappearing art medium.) Drawing is also a strength of mine. I have taught both mediums for 2 decades in an Art Magnet high school. I only use my own personal photographs as references for my paintings and drawings. My artwork is 100% authentic.
Where do you find inspiration?Much of my inspiration and visual quidance comes through dreams. I have been called a 'visionary' - 'spiritual' but not in a traditional sense. Also, through annual 2 month International backpacking trips where I travel by public transportation and immerse myself in local cultures. I request photographs of people and their environment, honoring our human similarities rather than our differences. Mostly South America, Central America, and also Niger, Africa where I lived for 2 years.
What would you do with $25,000?Oil painting is expensive. I would purchase more top quality paint. I would also hire someone to add and update my paintings to improve my website. And I would love to travel to other remote parts of the world that are presently unaffordable for me.
