What is your favorite type of art to create?

I work in mixed media, using printmaking and installations to explore identity, migration, and shared human experience. My practice seeks to foster empathy and connection beyond language and borders, translating lived experience into sensory forms. My work is divided between printmaking and inhabitable sculptures/installations. Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in change —both material and emotional—and in adaptation, rooted in my experience as an immigrant. This history of displacement has shaped my understanding of transformation as a process of balance, growth, and reinvention. I bring together different perspectives through a holistic practice I am drawn to anatomical and natural forms as ways to explore cycles of life—regeneration, healing, birth, and decay— in a symbolic way, using them to connect my personal preoccupations w

What would you do with $25,000?

If I were awarded $25,000, I would return to Tokyo for two months to continue and complete the body of work developed during my residency in 2025. Although exhibited, the work remains unresolved and requires further development through direct engagement with local techniques, including ceramic printmaking and Japanese weaving, which cannot be developed remotely.This support would help me to elevate my work, expand my audience, and connect it to influential voices in contemporary art.
