To some without art makes your skin itch, a tear in your soul. Loving art is giving a piece of yourself, it’s existing. Knowing I exist.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
One that can tell its own story. My favorite type of art to create is one that someone can feel they’ve been seen. No matter it being writings from my books, poems to how I saw through the lens of my Polaroid camera. I will say, I do not have a favorite type of art. I adore many art medias that I want to try and get my hands on. So, my favorite type of art to create is mixed media because art has no bounds when it comes to be created.
Where do you find inspiration?Where do I find my inspiration? What’s around me, what’s happening now. The constant emotional turmoil tilting on its axis. Yet, I have found more inspiration through my friends and loved ones. Maybe it’s because they encourage me to keep trying, so I try to push myself past my boundaries. And the stories I write, the poems? My life, and the life of family before me gave me inspiration to pick up the pen. Inspiration can be found anywhere, even if it’s an abandoned house.
What would you do with $25,000?What would I do with 25,000? I would want to make my mother smile again. I haven’t seen her smile since periodontitis, so I kinda wanna see her smile again. Maybe hopefully regain her confidence too in the long run. And if I can do more with the 25,000…I would like to put me and my brother in school, maybe even tuck some away for harsh rainy days but the truth is…for 25,000…I would want to open that salon my mom has always talked about for the past 7 years. I would give her the 25,000.
