Sabina paints folk-style landscapes, “dispainting” oil surfaces to create textured visual stories that freely embrace color and perspective.

I prefer working in oils, mixing my own pigments to create earthy, expressive colors. I often collect soil from places I visit, blending it with linseed oil to bring the physical landscape directly into the painting. My work depicts quiet narratives unfolding within forests, hills, rivers, and open land and skies. Human figures appear small within these scenes, emphasizing the scale, presence, and enduring power of the natural world.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in nature. Rather than focusing on tragedy or overt conflict, I am drawn to the quiet resilience and beauty that emerge through hardship. My paintings explore nature from many perspectives — undulating hills, playful oceans, roaring streams, and deeply rooted trees. I create textured oil scenes where small figures move gently through expansive landscapes, inviting viewers to slow down, stay curious, and reconnect with the everyday wonder.
What would you do with $25,000?I would create a collection celebrating each state by capturing the beauty and character that make it uniquely natural. I would also invite fellow artists to contribute works that reflect humanity at its best, creating together in an open public space where visitors can witness the creative process firsthand and experience art as a shared act of connection, curiosity, and community.
